Nicholas K B – Education (Ghana)

Nicholas is very passionate about teaching. He is currently attending Berekum Teacher Training College, working towards a diploma in basic education. He is the youngest of 11 with just one older sibling attending college and is married with one child. In addition to his responsibilities at school, Nicholas currently works 26 hours a week as a Teacher Trainee, Ghana Education Service and earns $7 a day to support his education and living expenses. As a certified trained teacher, he will be able to earn $15 a day which is a substantial increase from before. With a professional degree and a career in teaching, he hopes to be able to provide his family with a better life as well as financially assist his church and club. Without any financial assistance, Nicholas does not have any other source and will have to leave school. This will prevent him from attending lectures which could finally lead to poor performance in the end of the semester exams.
