Jean Paul R – Teaching (Rwanda)

Becoming a teacher has always been Jean’s dream. To achieve his goal, Jean has enrolled in Mount Kenya University. Without a loan he fears that he will need to defer his graduation. With a $1,541 loan, Jean plans on using the loan to pay for his tuition. In addition to his responsibilities at school, Jean currently works 42 hours a week. With a degree in education he expects to earn $15 a day. Jean’s parents were never able to complete their primary education. For his family finances have always been tight. With three older siblings attending college already, Jean is unsure how he will be able to finance his education on his own without the assistance of a loan. To help afford his school and living expenses, Jean currently works 42 hours a week in addition to his responsibilities at school.
